Now that we’re a few weeks into the new year, you’ve hopefully had a chance to mull over your goals for the year and things you might like to accomplish. For many of us, that includes making a change in our careers. And if you’re reading this post right now, it’s likely you may be looking to break into the data space.
There’s no better time than now! Whether you’re completely new to the industry or just looking to change the path that you’re on, we’ve put together some of our favorite learning resources to get you on track to crush your New Year, New Career resolution.
In this series, we’ll look at four data focused roles, providing you with our top five learning resources for each: Analytics Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Engineer, and BI Analyst.
Keep in mind that learning something new is going to be a process! These resources will help you to begin your journey, but we encourage you to always be learning and sharpening your skills.
In addition to these resources, we highly recommend getting involved with LinkedIn, Twitter, and Reddit data communities to fully immerse yourself in the industry. If you’re in a different field right now, it would be a great idea to seek out a mentor from your company’s data or engineering team. They will be invaluable for you to learn what the role looks like in real world situations, and are usually happy to let you shadow what they’re working on.
Watch this space over the coming days, as we’ll be highlighting one role each day for the remainder of the week. Happy Learning!
