Casting a Hex on your Data Stack

Casting a Hex on your Data Stack

Our team at Shipyard loves spooky season. We were sitting around our (virtual) offices and were thinking about how we could include some spookiness into Shipyard to help the whole Shipyard community celebrate with us. If only there was a way to automate casting a Hex...

Introducing our Hex Blueprints

Maybe I am a overselling today's announcement a little bit. Unfortunately, Shipyard does not have the ability to automate casting Hexes on your least favorite people, but we do now have 2 Blueprints to help automate our favorite data tool with a Halloween-themed name.

We are happy to announce that Shipyard now has 2 low-code Blueprints to help automate your projects in Hex. By providing your credentials from Hex, you can mix and match blueprints to:

Scare Away Schedule-Based Project Runs

Before Shipyard, data teams were forced to look at the average time upstream processes took to complete before they could schedule their Hex processes. Using Shipyard, you will never have to play that guessing game again. You can setup a workflow that will run the moment the upstream process is completed.

Spread Spookiness Across your Data Stack

Hex does not want to live on its own in your data stack. There are a number of upstream and downstream processes that would increase efficiency for your organization. Shipyard allows you to connect Hex to all of the other data tools in your stack.

Here are a few examples of workflows that you can now create inside of Shipyard:

  • Send an email to stakeholders letting them know that the Hex project is ready for them to view after a run.
  • Start a project run after a dbt Cloud run.
  • Send Slack alerts if a project run fails allowing the team to quickly remediate the issue.

Don't Get Jinxed. Start Charming your Fleets Today

Hex Blueprints are now available to all users and can be tested with any account. Sign up for our free Developer Plan to start automating your data orchestration process.

We're looking forward to seeing how users will take advantage of this functionality to quickly launch, monitor, and share data pipelines

About Shipyard:
‌Shipyard is a modern data orchestration platform for data engineers to easily connect tools, automate workflows, and build a solid data infrastructure from day one.‌
‌‌
‌Shipyard offers low-code templates that are configured using a visual interface, replacing the need to write code to build data workflows while enabling data engineers to get their work into production faster. If a solution can’t be built with existing templates, engineers can always automate scripts in the language of their choice to bring any internal or external process into their workflows.‌
‌‌
‌The Shipyard team has built data products for some of the largest brands in business and deeply understands the problems that come with scale. Observability and alerting are built into the Shipyard platform, ensuring that breakages are identified before being discovered downstream by business teams.‌
‌‌
‌With a high level of concurrency and end-to-end encryption, Shipyard enables data teams to accomplish more without relying on other teams or worrying about infrastructure challenges, while also ensuring that business teams trust the data made available to them.
